Affected by sanctions, the Russian economy is back on track and even shows growth, recovering its last year’s losses. In his recent talk before the students of HSE ICEF, Russian ex-Minister of Finance Mikhail Zadornov gave details of the current economic situation and how the country’s finance sector continues to evolve to meet the new conditions. The talk had as moderator HSE President Alexander Shokhin, who serves also as President of the Russian Association of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and was one in a series of the Field Expert Talks with well-known Russian economists and practicing entrepreneurs organized for HSE ICEF students.

The BRICS Summer School 2023, held in Johannesburg, South Africa, spanned September 4 to 6 and was attended by ICEF’s master’s student Andrey Ilyin, who majors in Financial Economics and is a recipient of the RF Presidential Scholarship. Organised by the University of Johannesburg in collaboration with the South African BRICS Youth Association (SABYA), the Summer School provides a deeper understanding of the BRICS countries and their agenda, promoting also cultural awareness. On 31 August, ICEF’s newly enrolled undergraduate students gathered at HSE campus on Pokrovsky Boulevard for the Freshmen Welcome Event. Following the presentation of the learning process, university policies and on-campus activities, the students have been issued their Student ID Cards. The briefing covered also the class schedule and other essential aspects about ICEF, but most importantly it encouraged everyone to meet one another.
