The HSE News Service spoke to Prof. Maxim Nikitin, Deputy Director of HSE ICEFand Academic Director of the Master’s in Financial Economics, about the college’s international student body and burgeoning partnerships with foreign universities. We also spoke to Minghao Yan, a graduate from China who was awarded the highest marks for the defence of his master’s thesis on gambling behaviour.

ICEF’s 2023 graduation ceremony was held in HSE Cultural Centre and celebrated the graduation of the 23^rd class of bachelor’s and the 15^th class of master’s students. The two classes were awarded their degrees and delivered graduation speeches before an audience of ICEF faculty, HSE leaders, staff, and families.

Alena Shurtakova earned her bachelor’s from ICEF and her master’s from IE Business School in Madrid. In 2023 Alena completed her MBA graduate studies at Columbia Business School in New York and is currently employed as a consultant in McKinsey office in San Francisco.
