Stanford Russian-American Forum: From Idea to Project

Every year, 20 American and 20 Russian students come together to participate in the Stanford Russian-American Forum, which begins with an autumn conference in Moscow, continues with six months of joint work on research projects, and finishes with a spring conference at Stanford University. Kirill Kopytov, a first-year ICEF Master’s student, spoke with us about his participation in the forum.

Ksenia Kushner graduated from the Master’s Programme at ICEF in 2015, and later that year joined the team at XENON Capital Partners, one of the leading financial investment consultancies.

“While your brain is working, you have to learn as many things as possible”

Vladimir Shmarov graduated from the Master’s Programme in Financial Economics in 2015 and went on to complete a summer internship at Barclays in London. He now works there full-time as an ESG quant. Vladimir tells us not only about his studies and work in the bank, but also about teaching, dancing and how useful sitcoms can be.
