On 31 August, ICEF’s newly enrolled undergraduate students gathered at HSE campus on Pokrovsky Boulevard for the Freshmen Welcome Event. Following the presentation of the learning process, university policies and on-campus activities, the students have been issued their Student ID Cards. The briefing covered also the class schedule and other essential aspects about ICEF, but most importantly it encouraged everyone to meet one another.

Francesca Macchia studies Finance at LUISS (Rome) and is in her second year of double-degree track with ICEF’s Master of Financial Economics. This year, Francesca’s paper won the third prize from HSE Student Research Paper Competition. In this interview, Francesca tells about why she chose to study in Russia, how she learned Russian, and what inspired her to choose Econometrics as a field for future PhD research.
HSE has celebrated the completion of its largest sports and fitness event – Inter-Campus Student Football Festival HSE CUP 2023. Competing in it were the teams of HSE Moscow, HSE Nizhny Novgorod and HSE St. Petersburg.

The Econometrics Universiade-2023 has announced its results. This year the contest resumed in-person operation after having been held online for three years, and was marked by the exceptional performance of the ICEF students, its winners.

In addition to the core curriculum, ICEF offers a wide array of electives allowing students to learn programming, data management and much more. Alexander has a place on ICEF Endowment Fund Board of Trustees. Acting as the moderator was HSE University President Alexander Shokhin.
