Egor Yurkevich earned his bachelor's from ICEF in 2018 and his master's in Data-Driven Communications from HSE in 2020. Egor assumed his current job as Strategy and Corporate Development Manager at SberMarket in 2021. In this interview, he talks about coping with the challenges of improving English skills and mathematics, why ICEF graduates are preferred candidates in IT industry, and what in-house consulting is about.

In 2020, prospective students got a new experience: touring and getting to know universities remotely. After passing entrance exams online, many of them are now studying online and have yet to see HSE University in person. We asked Aiganym Daupbayeva, first-year student of the HSE and University of London Double Degree Programme in Economics from Kazakhstan about her experience attending HSE virtually. She discussed how to get into HSE and take classes without leaving your home, and why international students choose HSE University.

International experts have recognised Harvard University as the best in the world in terms of reputation. Moscow State University was ranked 37th, while HSE University entered the Times Higher Education (THE) World Reputation Rankings 2020, within the 151-175 range, taking fifth position among Russian universities, showing a commendable result for such a young institution.

This year the ICEF not only moved to the new HSE campus complex on Pokrovsky Boulevard, but updated its curriculum and added new courses in IT. We talked to Maxim Nikitin, Academic Director of the ICEF Master's Programme in Financial Economics, to find out what sets the programme apart from its competitors, what helps students land jobs in London, who ICEF faculty partners are on the employment market, and where lies the secret of ICEF graduates’ mathematical power.

On March 16, the rector decided to move all classes at HSE University online due to COVID-19. The largest universities in Russia and all over the world had to pull off the enormous feat of transitioning to online education immediately. As a result, the ongoing years-long discussions about the pros and cons of online education were put on pause. Academic supervisor of the ICEF bachelor’s programme, Oleg Zamkov, told us about how the ICEF has transitioned online, who can help when something goes wrong, and what resources will be necessary for online examinations.

The University of London (UoL) has completed its task of monitoring the performance of Teaching Centres that operate under the Teaching Centres Recognition Framework. Upon consideration of the information gathered, the performance achieved by International College of Economics and Finance has been rated as excellent.

In 2019, after their first year in ICEF Master’s Programme, three students, Anastasia Melnik, Arseny Turyshev and Nikita Tsyrlin, went to Rome-based LUISS through a double degree programme. This autumn ICEF BSc programme’s 3^rd and 4^th year students received awards and commendation letters for outstanding results at international examinations, and an official proof of these achievements was delivered to ICEF a few days ago.
