ICEF announces a Summer Bridge School in Financial Economics. The programme is designed for students admitted to the ICEF Master programme and for senior bachelor students who would like to prepare themselves for admission in 2023 or in 2024.

The 10th Anniversary International Moscow Finance Conference organized by the ICEF Laboratory of Financial Economics, was held online in October 2021. At the end of the conference, Vladimir Sokolov, Head of the Laboratory and Associate Professor at ICEF, talked with Christian Juilliard, Research coordinator of the Laboratory and professor at LSE. In an interview Christian shared his impressions of LSE-ICEF cooperation, about digital fatigue and the interest in cryptocurrencies as an area of research.

Lin Yang entered ICEF Master’s Programme in Financial Economics after completing his bachelor in the United States, and believes that Russia provides unrivalled rigorous mathematical training. Lin currently serves as Investment Director of Eurasia Region at China Railway Construction Corporation International Investment Group. He talked about the features of Liberal Arts colleges, how neurosciences help in financial forecasting, and how the ICEF alumni community is useful for work.

ICEF graduation ceremony hosted by HSE Cultures Centre
ICEF hosted its first in-person graduation ceremony since the pandemic led to restrictions. Diplomas were awarded to two classes. Hosted by HSE Cultures Centre, the day-long ceremony unfolded in sessions, one for Bachelor’s students and one for Master’s. Congratulating graduands were the faculty of ICEF HSE and professors of the University of London (LU) and the London School of Economics (LSE).

Every year, ICEF awards its best-performing undergraduate students with trips to LSE Summer School at the London School of Economics, a key member institution of the University of London (UoL). While last year the School delivered its courses online, this year it offered its participants a choice between online and offline learning – and many chose to come to London despite challenging travel restrictions due to COVID. In this interview, our students share which mode they chose and why, how PCR testing services work at universities in London, what made their travel challenging, and, most importantly, how they found their experience.

Peio Zuazo-Garin, ICEF assistant professor and a PhD graduate from the University of the Basque Country, joined HSE at a time when all the usual formats of research and teaching were disrupted by the pandemic.
