The HSE – University of London Bachelor’s Programme in Economics has gained membership in CFA Institute University Affiliation Program.

ICEF Bachelor's Programme is the first of its kind to have gained this membership among other bachelor's programmes in Russia. Previously, this status was obtained by just a handful of master's programmes in finance at the Higher School of Economics (Banking Institute), Lomonosov Moscow State University, NES, and Plekhanov Russian University of Economics.

As an Affiliated University, ICEF and its bachelor’s programme (specialization in Banking and Finance) embeds a significant portion of CFA Institute learning materials and Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. It signals that its curriculum is closely tied to the resources of the CFA Institute and is helpful to students, both academically and financially, preparing for the Chartered Financial Analyst® exam, the latter leading to a globally-recognized professional designation.

About CFA Institute:

CFA Institute is a global association of investment professionals with a high set of standards defined by the CFA Charter. Its stated mission is to promote a high level of ethical and professional standards in the investment industry and to serve as a source of expertise for the global financial community. CFA Institute has more than 176,000 members and charterholders in 166 countries.

One of the globally-recognized professional designations given by the CFA Institute is Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). The CFA designation requires candidates to pass three successive examinations and have at least four years of experience in investment and finance.

CFA candidates are expected to adopt and follow the CFA Institute code of ethics and standards of professional conduct, as the adherence to high ethical standards is seen as a fundamental norm for maintaining public confidence in the financial markets and investment fund management. One more requirement to meet is registered membership in CFA Institute and one of its local societies. The organization representing CFA in Russia is CFA Association Russia.
