Initiated by ICEF Alumni Association Board, the Mentoring Programme was launched in 2016, an endeavour first pioneered by ICEF and currently adhered to by entire HSE.

In 2018 Vladimir Malygin was awarded master degrees from both ICEF and Erasmus University, Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Now he works as a quant in the Dutch company Aegon. In his interview he told us whatquants do, how it is possible to study for two master’s degrees at the same time, andwhy personal qualities are important for candidates who apply to be quants.

Once a year ICEF finds time to host reporters on all kinds of unscientific topics. Travels, friends abroad, business meetings in different parts of the globe — this is how Stanislav Moscovtsev imagined his ideal day in his teenage years. To make his dream a reality, he did a master’s degree at ICEF, enrolled in Harvard Business School MBA program, received experience of working for a few large companies, and passed a job interview at McKinsey. After Maria Titova completed her master’s studies at ICEF in 2015, she enrolled in a PhD programme at the University of California, San Diego. Ekaterina Kolchina Graduated from HSE ICEF with a bachelor’s in economics and finance. She then received her master’s in management from London Business School. Kolchina interned at KPMG before joining McKinsey in Moscow. While at McKinsey, she also worked on projects in Great Britain and Spain. After heading the project management office at Letovo School, Kolchina became deputy CEO of Papa John’s in Russia and the CIS.

Konstantin Fedorov enrolled in ICEF Master’s Programme to gain a deeper insight into Corporate Finance and try himself in a new realm of activity. During his studies, Konstantin passed CFA Level 1 exam as a step towards the internationally recognized CFA credential. In this interview, he gives tips on how to prepare for the CFA exam, one of the toughest financial exams designed to help professionals acquire advanced financial analysis and investment management skills, and how ICEF can be helpful.
