June 29, 2013 Victoria Dobrynskaya, ICEF teacher and a PhD student at the London School of Economics, won the John A. Doukas Ph.D. Best Paper Award! Topic of the paper: Downside Market Risk of Carry Trades. The prize was awarded to Victoria by the European Financial Management Association (EFMA) during its annual conference in Reading, UK.

The European Financial Management Association was founded in 1994 by Prof. John Doukas to encourage research and disseminate knowledge about financial decision making in all areas of finance as it relates to European corporations, financial institutions and capital markets. To achieve its objectives, the European Financial Management Association holds Annual Meetings at which members exchange ideas, present and discuss their research.

Every year EFMA announces the John A. Doukas Ph.D. Best Paper Award to a Ph.D. student who submits the best solo-authored paper to the annual "MERTON H. MILLER" DOCTORAL SEMINAR or EFMA meetings. The John A. Doukas Ph.D. Best Paper Award recognizes the research paper that has the most potential to advance the understanding in the field of finance and is announced at the annual EFMA meetings. The student receives a US $1,500 cash prize.
