MSc Financial Economics Moves Up in QS Top 100 Business Masters in Finance

MSc Financial Economics Moves Up in QS Top 100 Business Masters in Finance

As previously, QS Business Master’s Rankings feature HSE’s five MSc programmes, with ICEF’s MSc Financial Economics remaining in the Top 100 for five years in a row. Having moved up three positions in QS Business Master’s in Finance 2023 (ranking 82nd among 189 globally recognized finance degrees), the programme is Russia’s only master’s in finance with a ranking in the Top 100.

This year’s QS Business Master’s Ranking analyzed a total of about 600 programmes. The QS Business Master’s in Finance is compiled on the basis of five key metrics – Alumni Outcomes, Diversity, Employability, Thought Leadership, Value for Money (ROI) –  each of which is evaluated on a scale from 1 to 100. The final score is awarded using the following sources: university data, academics and employers surveys, Scopusdata base, top managers lists (Forbes and 150+ similar rankings), and Mercer Cost of Living City Index.

ICEF’s MSc Financial Economics has achieved substantial progress in Though Leadership (52nd place in the world) and Employability (72nd place in the world). While Though Leadership score is based on academic community surveys about which universities and business schools they see as best performing in their subject area, the Employability score uses the results of QS Global Employer Survey, which asks employers to name schools they want their job candidates to have degrees from. The total score for the Employability indicator considers the employment rate for students, six months post-graduation, based on MBA CSEA standard.

ICEF’s Master’s Programme in Financial Economics is the only of its kind in Russia and has been developed jointly with the London School of Economics (LSE). Offering an exclusive blend of theoretical and hands-on courses in Economics, Finance, Data Management and Programming, it comes with unique employment opportunities, allowing graduates to build careers in finance, strategic consulting and real sector in Russia and abroad, or to enroll in PhD or doctoral programmes at the world’s top universities.

The QS Business Master's Rankings are led by HEC Paris, Oxford (Said), LBS, ESSEC, LSE. These schools continue to be the preferred choice among bachelor's graduates to further their studies, alongside HSE University and ICEF. In 2022, HEC Paris alone welcomed five graduates of ICEF’s bachelor’s programme. Another five chose to pursue their master’s at ICEF.
