Finance insights by Brian A. Eales
Brian Eales led the Finance Team at London Metropolitan University for many years and developed its MSc Financial Markets and Derivatives programme. He has extensive practical experience of international financial markets with Commerzbank, and consultancy projects with banks including Barclays Capital, Credit Suisse First Boston, Deutsche Bank, Mizhuo and BNP Paribas.
For the past five years he has been associated with the ICEF through its links with the LSE, where he lectures and carries out workshops on the use of derivative securities in MSc programme. It's a kind of traditional continuity because Brian is a graduate of MSc LSE. Now he is a fellow of the Royal Statistical Society, one of the key experts at the London Finance Academy, and also advises the New Zealand government on financial tax instruments. Eales has published a number of books, the key ones being Financial Engineering (2000) and Financial Markets and Institutions (2013).
