Finance practitioner courses for ICEF MSc students: Applied Banking

On 22 January, 16:40, ICEF is hosting Vladimir Krasik, Senior Managing Director at Sberbank – Head of Interest-Rate and Currency Risks Division, and Sergey Sidelnikov, Managing Director at Sberbank Treasury – Head of Balance Structure Division. They will deliver a presentation of Applied Banking, ICEF’s new master’s level elective.

The course introduces its participants to the key concepts of banking business and ALM (Asset Liability Management), presenting the real-life cases commonly faced by practicing banking experts.

Additionally, the course gives the opportunity to

- meet Sberbank’s top managers and learn about the latest trends in banking business;

- play bank management simulation game; and

- become eligible for Sberbank Treasury’s fast-track allocation of traineeship places and full-time positions.

Sberbank Treasury is an intellectually resourceful facility with multifaceted vision of the operations across the bank. It is designed to develop and implement the applied tools for managing bank risks, some of which are truly unique in terms the market leverage they allow and the elaborateness (relying, among other methods, on artificial intelligence and machine learning). The Treasury has a staff of 200+ employees. Some of them earned their master’s degrees from ICEF – Tatiana Filatova, Denis Orlov, Ekaterina Trapeznikova, Natalia Krotkova, Svetlana Suchkova, among others.
