Paper of Fabian Slonimczyk and Anna Yurko has been awarded the Yegor Gaidar prize

The Ceremony of young economists’ Yegor Gaidar prize awarding took place on April 8th at 15.00 within XVI April International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development.

This year award winners were ICEF assistant professor Fabian Slonimczyk and ICEF tenured professor Anna Yurko. They were awarded for the paper "Assessing the Impact of the Maternity Capital Policy in Russia" published in Labour Economics (2014. No. 30. P. 265-281). The Influence of the Russian Maternity Capital Policy on the fertility in Russia were estimated with the help of mathematical models. Fabian Slonimczyk and Anna Yurko made a short speech on the results of their research on the Ceremony.

The Yegor Gaidar Award for young economists was founded in 2013 by Yegor Gaidar foundation. It is conferred to economists under the age of 40 working in Russia for scientific studies published in international peer-reviewed journals. The purpose of this annual award is to contribute to the development of Russian economics and to promote integration of young economists into the global academic community.

NES Associate Professor Sergei Izmalkov, ICEF Tenured Professor Maxim Nikitin, and MIT Professor Victor Chernozhukov formed the jury in 2015.
