The 21 undergraduates, who are in their 3rd and 4th year of study at ICEF, showed their best and will compete in the final, in-person stage scheduled to take place on April 13. As last year, the Econometrics Universiade lists among the Lomonosov academic competitions.

An international academic contest for senior undergraduates (bachelor’s and specialist degrees) and graduate students, the Econometrics Universiade involves contestants in solving problems that require unconventional solutions and thinking outside the box.

ICEF students have been frequent winners in the Econometrics Universiade since its start in 2012. In 2023 it celebrated the absolute win of ICEF 4-year student Vladimir Averin and the prize-winning performance of third-years Polina Atovmyan and Andrei Bakhmutsky.

The Econometrics Universiade attracts students of top-notch schools in Moscow and other parts of Russia. Held among third- and fourth-year undergraduates, its top places often go to ICEF students pursuing the International Programme in Economics and Finance. The contest grants its winners fast-track admission to some of the best master’s programmes in the country.

Along with students of ICEF and Moscow State University Faculty of Economics, the latter being the contest’s host, the Stage I winners include eight 3- and 4-years of HSE Faculty of Economics Sciences, HSE Saint-Petersburg and HSE Nizhny Novgorod, as well as top students of MEPhI, RANEPA, Financial University, St. Petersburg State University, Novosibirsk State University, Orenburg State University, Kemerovo State University, and Shenzhen MSU-BIT University.

Congratulations and good luck in the final!
