ICEF alumni reunion in London 2012
December 6, 2012 the London School of Economics (LSE) and ICEF organized the evening of reunion for ICEF alumni who continue their education or work in London. The alumni reunion was held within the framework of the ICEF 15th anniversary.
It is pleasant to notice that graduates of ICEF MSc programme were also among members of the reunion. For example, Svetlana Bryzgalova, ICEF graduate 2009, successfully studies at PhD programme and teaches at the LSE. One of the best MSc students of 2012/13 academic year Yuri Vorontsov, who now completes the second year of study on the Master’s programme in Finance at the Essex Business School of the University of Essex in the UK, also came to the reunion.
The meeting was attended by the LSE representatives: the LSE Director of Academic Services Simeon Underwood, Pro-Director of the LSE Janet Hartley, Director of ICEF project at the LSE Richard Jackman. Professors Christian Julliard, Michael Zervos, Georgy Chabakauri and others came to talk to ICEF alumni that day. Moreover, Emeritus Professor of the LSE Lord Richard Layard, the founder and first Director of the Centre of Economic Performance at the LSE, honoured ICEF alumni with his presence. Richard Layard was one of the first people to support the idea of ICEF creation in 1996.
It is symbolic, that in the year of ICEF 15th anniversary the alumni reunion was opened by warm welcoming speeches of ICEF founders Richard Layard and Sergey Yakovlev. They told alumni how ICEF was started and what has been achieved over these past 15 years. And then in a wonderfully warm atmosphere ICEF graduates were talking to the old friends and teachers to the sounds of live music.
