ICEF Master’s Programme: New Opportunities
Interview with the Head of ICEF Master’s programme Maxim Nikitin.
What will be new at ICEF Master's programme this year?
The top news is the agreement on cooperation between ICEF and the Essex Business School (UK), which assumes, among other things, the exchange of students.
Since the beginning of the next academic year two of our best students who have completed the first year of ICEF Master’s programme in Moscow, will travel to Essex to study for the entire second year.
As a result of studies they will receive two Master's degrees: the HSE Master’s degree in Economics and the degree of the Master of Science of the Essex Business School.
Do these students need to pay extra fee for their studies at the University of Essex?
No. They will have to pay extra just for living in the UK, about 11 thousand dollars a year.
What may be of interest to our students studying at the Essex Business School?
First, this School is one of the five leading business schools in the UK for research in the field of finance. Second, after graduating from a British university foreign students are entitled to take an internship and work in the UK companies and banks for several months.
Third, our students will have a unique experience of learning and communicating in a multicultural environment, which the British universities are famous for. Finally, the University of Essex is located near London, the financial capital of the world.
Could you tell about the placement of the ICEF Master’s programme graduates?
Most of the 18 graduates 2011 have chosen the place of work. Among the employers of our students - Credit Suisse, UBS, Troika Dialog, Uralsib-Capital, VTB Capital, Fleming Family & Partners, JTI, Sberbank. This year the first ICEF graduate of the Master’s programme was offered a job at Morgan Stanley.

What would you advise and wish to the Master’s programme applicants 2011?
Advise: do not start working full-time too early. Try to get from learning all you can, and only then look for your dream job. I wish all the applicants good luck!
