On the 14th of October Alexander Zozulya, who is in charge of Global Markets Department at Sberbank, gave a talk to an audience of +100 students of ICEF and other schools within HSE (Faculty of Computer Science, Faculty of Economic Sciences, Graduate School of Business).

In the introduction that preceded Alexander’s talk, Sergey Konyshev, Head of ICEF Research Guidance Office, and Yaroslav Lyulko, ICEF Quantitative Courses Coordinator, presented to the audience the newly started project allowing our students to have the team of Sberbank Global Markets as supervisors for their coursework and graduation papers.

A graduate of NES and Moscow State University Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, Alexander Zozulya started his career in the banks abroad. Currently in charge of Global Markets at Sberbank – the universal generator of financial solutions of any complexity and scalability for businesses and individuals – Alexander focused his talk on the special features of Russia’s financial landscape, the role Sberbank plays on it, and what skills the financial specialists of today and tomorrow need to have in the first place.

The talk unfolded in the form of an informal dialogue. So curious were the students to learn more, they wouldn’t let Alexander go, continuing to ask questions as they followed him into the corridor.

To date, as many as ten undergraduates and graduate students of ICEF have joined the SBER-ICEF project to work on their coursework and theses under the guidance of the Global Markets team.
