HSE Welcomes the Delegation of School of Economics, Shanghai University
The 15th of May witnessed the senior managers, programme coordinators, faculty members and students of ICEF and the Faculty of Economic Sciences (FES) welcome the officials and administrators of the International Department of the School of Economics, Shanghai University.
Established in 1922, Shanghai University is one of China’s oldest and largest universities. It is known globally as a prominent provider of applied and fundamental research, enjoys record levels of research spending, grant funding, and published research in China, and has a reputation as one of the most prolific members of the international research community. The School of Economics of Shanghai University has long been a partner to HSE University’s student exchange programme.
The meeting began with a tour of the campus where the delegates were able to experience the atmosphere of the largest Russian university by meeting its faculties and enjoying the authentic look of campus buildings on Pokrovsky Boulevard. The tour was followed by the round table meeting with the students of ICEF, FES and Chinese students of the School of Economics of Shanghai University who are studying at the Higher School of Economics on an exchange programme. Exchange students presented their home school – the School of Economics of Shanghai University – and gave a detailed account of the student exchange at Shanghai University, following which they answered students’ questions.
At the end of the meeting, the delegates handed over the official letters of invitation to those of the students of ICEF and FES who are due to go on exchange to the School of Economics, Shanghai University in the fall of 2023.
