August 18, 2010 Roman Zakharenko, Assistant Professor of the International College of Economics and Finance, presented his research “Children versus Ideas: an 'Influential' Theory of Demographic Transition" at the 10th World Congress of the Econometric Society in Shanghai. The World Congress of the Econometric Society is the most prestigious international conference in the field of economics, a sort of Olympics for Economists; it is held once in five years. Besides Roman Zakharenko, Russia was represented by eight researchers, including three researchers from the Higher School of Economics.
