1. How do I apply to ICEF professional programme for graduates?
You can apply for the University of London External programme via the Internet or through mail. You will have to pay for consideration of your application to University of London (49 pounds). Note: the original admission application to the University of London External programme must be received before September 17. If by this date you still can not get a certificate confirming sufficient level of English language, you need to send a form without it. University of London will ask you to hand in this missing document and that in turn can be done after September 17.
For admission to the HSE you need to submit the necessary documents to ICEF admission committee, indicating the time when you prefer to pass the entrance test. If the admission to the programme is confirmed by the London University and a pass mark to the ICEF programme is acquired, an applicant may sign a study contract with ICEF. Classes start October 15.
2. Who teaches at the professional retraining programme at ICEF?
Classes are taught mainly in English, but students also learn the necessary program terminology in Russian. Classes are taught by the same teachers and professors who teach at the ICEF double-degree BSc programme and who have thus accumulated a significant experience by UoL standards. All ICEF teachers have relevant international experience and have been selected to work on the basis of open competition by the International Academic Committee, comprised of representatives of the LSE and HSE.
3. What are the final exams like and how is the final assessment carried out?
University of London External examinations are conducted in a written form in english language. In order to prepare for these exams, students write trial exams three times a year (in November, January and April). University of London External examinations are conducted in May-June. Ratings on these exams are the totals for the University of London diploma. The final grades for the HSE diploma are weighted averages of all grades received during the year and the University of London exam results.
4. How many hours per week do classes take?
Each week provides 8 classes (4 lectures and 4 seminars). Classes will be held either 4 times a week from 18.30 to 21.20, or 2 times a week from 18.30 to 21.20 and on Saturdays (from 10.30 to 16.30), depending on the wishes of the majority of students.
5. What educational materials will be provided to the students?
Students will be issued a textbook for each course. In addition, they are given access to training materials for these courses, developed by teachers for ICEF Bachelors programme. The University of London provides subject guides for each course, as well as the past exam papers and reports.
