Real-Life Cases from Field Experts: ICEF Starts New Series of Workshops

These new workshops involve both faculty and graduates with experience in the field to prepare the current students for the workplace by navigating them through real-world assignments in financial economics jobs.
The first session in this series dealt with Investment Portfolio Management and was delivered by Elena Dimova in a creative tandem with ICEF graduate Stanislav Borisov of SberCIB Market Risks Department.
Stanislav invited the participating students to do a group task that involved development and pricing of a structured product. With Python and Excel as its main tools, the task proved a good way to hone skills critical to product valuation, presenting to customers, and executing in-house documentation. All its sub-tasks and processes were exactly the same as faced by SberCIB team in real work environment. The grade for this assignment sums up the final grade for the Investment Portfolio Management course.
The one to host next workshop was Artem Fetisov, the former manager of SberCIB Structured Products Desk and the current head of trading at Rumberg Capital. Artem introduced the group to ins and outs of investment business and gave experience-based practice tips to follow for a successful start in the investment banking.
