History of ICEF Establishment
International College of Economics and Finance (ICEF) was founded in 1997 as the result of a unique partnership between the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE).
The London School of Economics and Political Science is a world class centre for its concentration of teaching and research across the full range of the social, political and economic sciences. Founded in 1895 by Beatrice and Sidney Webb, LSE has an outstanding reputation for academic excellence.
LSE is one of the most international universities in the world. The study of social, economic and political problems covers not only the UK and European Union, but every corner of the globe. From its foundation LSE has aimed to be a laboratory of the social sciences - a place where ideas are developed, analysed, evaluated and disseminated around the globe.
The University of London is a federal University, and is one of the oldest, largest and most diverse universities in Europe. Established by Royal Charter in 1836, the University is recognised globally as a world leader in Higher Education.
The University of London International Programmes are the oldest distance learning programmes in the world. The degrees have been accessible to students worldwide since 1858. International students achieve degrees that are recognized all over the world and equivalent to those taught at the University in London.
In 2009, with the advent of the new Institutions Policy Framework, ICEF was given Affiliate centre status of the University of London International Programmes, for its commitment to academic achievement and its devotion to enhancing the student experience.
