Honorary lecture by Dr. Dimitrios Tsomocos

On Thursday, February 11 ICEF has the pleasure to host a honorary lecture by Professor Dimitrios Tsomocos on 'Global Imbalances and Greece’s Exit from Crisis'.

Dr Dimitrios P Tsomocos is a University Reader in Financial Economics at Saïd Business School and a Fellow in Management at St Edmund Hall, University of Oxford, and Senior Research Associate at the Financial Markets Group at the London School of Economics.

Dimitrios research interests are in the field of macroeconomics of banking and financial markets, monetary policy, and mathematical economics. His contributions include the development of general equilibrium model with incomplete asset markets, money and endogenous default, the Goodhart – Tsomocos model of financial fragility (2003), the analysis of contagion, interbank linkages and the impact of the Basel Accord and financial regulation. His works have had a substantial impact on economic policy around the world, including England, Bulgaria, Colombia, Greece, Korea and Norway. 

Dimitrios is an economic advisor to one of the main political parties in Greece and regularly provides commentary on the state of the Greek economy to local and international media.
